As I am waiting for my bus at the bar a customer buys me a shot of Maker's Mark. Warm and just a little bit harsh. It goes down without argument. Damn! I've missed my bus. It's late. Bob, Bob, can you give me a ride home? (Bob, mind you, a friend of a friend - a good man, and a man with a car). Yes, but. He's going to another bar first. I sip a little Turkey and wait to get home. Now in the car. Hiccups. Everyone is smoking. I roll down my window a little bit. Lord, am I still such a young man?

  1. I've been enjoying your bourbon explorations. I've tried the "usuals", Jim Beam, Maker's Mark, but nothing over 25.00 a fifth (on sale). I've dabbled in Scotches and have had a few 50-100.00 that were pretty damn nice. I'll have to find a liquor store that sells a variety of bourbons. Nice liquor is a nice ending to a long day. Right now I'm into a very nice tequila at about midnight after working on our new church building for 18 hours so we can have Holy Week services in it starting tomorrow night.
